Hosomichi Kudo survives under this oppressive regime by running a shady host club to pay off his massive financial debts. His cynical hustle collapses completely when he stumbles into a secret underground resistance faction named Arahabaki. This rogue organization deploys specialized mecha units to defend the last hidden sanctuaries of geek culture. These massive machines cannot run on standard fuel sources and require the intense passion of Battery Girls like the dedicated anime fanatic Rin Akagi to operate. | Rusted steel strings of a broken Gibson guitar press painfully against the calloused fingertips of a high school prodigy rapidly losing his passion for music. Ritsuka Uenoyama once found immense joy in playing the electric guitar, but his daily routine has devolved into apathetic naps on a quiet gymnasium staircase. His stagnant reality shatters when he encounters a fiercely quiet classmate named Mafuyu Sato clutching a top-tier instrument with snapped strings. After reluctantly repairing the hardware, Ritsuka is completely captivated by the haunting, devastatingly beautiful singing voice of the novice musician and immediately recruits him to join his instrumental rock band. This impulsive invitation catalyzes a complex web of romantic and creative entanglements alongside their older bandmates, the gentle bassist Haruki Nakayama and the enigmatic drummer Akihiko Kaji. As the newly formed quartet struggles to compose original tracks for their debut live performance, the deeply buried trauma regarding the suicide of Mafuyu's former boyfriend violently resurfaces and bleeds into their lyrics. Their expanding musical journey eventually forces them to confront a tangled history of toxic relationships, dragging Akihiko's genius ex-lover Ugetsu Murata and Mafuyu's childhood friends Hiiragi Kashima and Shizusumi Yagi into their chaotic orbit. Across multiple concert venues and fierce music competitions, every single character must weaponize their emotional baggage to produce authentic art while navigating the terrifying vulnerability of new love. Ultimately, their collective struggle transforms into a sprawling, high-decibel crusade to translate crushing grief and unspoken affections into a revolutionary sound before their unresolved feelings tear their fragile harmony apart.
