Yahallo, minna san. zeust -desu. As you can guess -desu, Hi10 needs donation -desu and if this continues the only thing Hi10 gets close to will be -desu (death).
Though the way I'm saying this might seem light, it's a VERY serious matter. Last month (month of May) we got only €31.22/ €120 donation. Zet had to pay the rest himself and for those who don't know about 'zet', he's one of our PRECIOUS member. Don't confuse the names. You see... 'zet + us' kinda gets 'zeust' but we are not the same. I mean, yeah in a way it tells the awesomeness that 'adding zet and all the others' are kinda same as 'zeust' alone, but THAT'S NOT THE POINT.
Situations like these leave us with clear-cut option: SHUT DOWN THE SITE.
It's not like we want to do this, but we'll have no other choice. Yeah, we could try hosting services, but we've been over it many times and to this day the decision is WE WILL NOT SWITCH TO HOSTING SERVICES. Our major plus point is our own dedicated servers and we'd like to keep it this way. But if you're not aware of it yet, let me be clear. This is not a utopia; server costs gotta be covered somehow and this is where you guys come into play. Just like Naruto needs Sasuke, WE need YOU(R MONEY). BUT, the donation we get is as scarce as the 'plot' in Gintama. I personally would like to get as much donation as there are fillers in NARUTO SHIPPUUDEN.
I've already told you about last month's and we'd appreciate your help as soon as possible. Otherwise, it'll be a regretful thing to let Hi10 down. I mean, who doesn't like to be HI?
Let's talk about why I end up writing these posts every time Hi10 gets something to worry about or celebrate about. I'll tell you a story that happened like more than half a year ago, around the time I stopped coming to chat rooms etc. I live in a 'fine' neighborhood. By fine, I don't mean 'really fine', but more like... kinda sucks, could've been a lot better but at least I'm alive, so it's 'fine', I guess. Anyway, there's a girl, juuhi, just like me, a student and not bad at it. You could say we had a 'friendship' kinda thing but it wasn't that girly, thanks to my social skills and weirdness.
I woke up one day quite late, like in the evening. Pretty much a usual routine / day for me; I'd get something to eat, surf through net, see anything interesting and if I like I'd code any program or something. "I don't mind such days" thinking that I got outta bed and realized there's a queer silence. Mom, approached me and said... (btw, yes, I do have a Mom. Normal family)... anyway she said... "you know... just be calm, you know the girl, right? She... passed away." Having just woken up, my senses were dull but I heard her, understood her. I quickly asked 'how?'. She continued her part of story but I realized that it doesn't matter how she died, what matters is that she's dead. Whether she died unfair or I don't accept the fact, she's not gonna come back. By the time mom finished her explanation, I wasn't even interested, I remained silent. Many thoughts came through but I couldn't cry, though, I was living dead.
One thing led to another, I'm at her funeral. Everyone's put on their mask of sadness, coming and leaving. The only ones without masks were her family. Seeing her mother, I noticed that I wasn't even close to living dead. I couldn't understand my own feeling but I:
World can be related to this. Only those who really care about you are the only real ones, rest are just fillers. They don't give a damn, if they have to save themselves. Juuhi meina, the girl, was just a side character of the story of my life, someone I interacted with often, but even if she's gone my world isn't really affected. To outsiders, she was just a filler. They think that even showing up at the funeral is enough to compensate for her life. But to her mom, the world has stopped. Some of you might have experienced such. Some of you might have gone through even a lot worse, something I can't even imagine. But...
No one imagined the most important thing in this story... Yes, the most important thing was... juuhi meina's reverse is 'hijuu anime', which is Japanese for 'Hi10 Anime' and the story is all made up to get your attention.
In a way, though, it does tell you a little about how we feel about our site. To us, it's THE site on the web. To some of you, it's quite good and to some it's just any other site on the web. But we'd be very sad to see it go down and if we could manage, we'd like to keep it up forever. And it's not possible without you people. You're the ones who'll keep this site running.
KEEP IT ALIVE, donate.
Our month's quota is €120. If we don't get to this sum for ongoing month or any coming, we'll be forced to shut down Hi10. In fact, our server providers will simply stop their services and we won't be able to do anything; it will be OUT OF OUR CONTROL.
p.s. Money might not be able to buy happiness, but it certainly can buy servers, which in return will entertain you with a lot of anime, which in return will provide you happiness, which kinda negates the statement that money can't buy happiness.

I’ve been somewhat slacking the last few months, especially in the donation department, lot has happend.. But, I’ll defo chip in later today.
This site is indeed an invaluable resource, let alone the amount of bandwidth it has saved me, though if shit really starts breaking the fan, let me know and I’ll help divide the costs, even on a permanent basis if needed.
and my existing torrent gets banned as soon as I run the utorrent.

I think you guys need some sort of meter on the left like reddit has showing the amount donated per month. That would put things in perspective and maybe prompt people to donate…
i like to donate but i dont have paypal, and “bitcoinbymobile.com” not support at my country. any other option to donate except western union and paypal? thanks before
In the past there was, but we had to remove it because it was too risky (DMCA and stuff), however, you can check how many donations we have overall in a month here: http://hi10anime.com/site-news/website-news-4/
The reason we don’t display it publicly on the front page is the same, as in the past we already had Kanri’s PayPal account closed down, so this way it’s a lot more safe, and registered visitors can still check it relatively fast/easily.
Also big thanks for everyone who donated already so quickly!
why not use gif picture given effect blinking? (manual to do)
and put it at corner of the site that hard to find
and make announce where it will be
and not need update it every day but once a week or every 2 weeks or every 10 days
Unfortunately I can’t get my money online so I can’t donate. Best I could do is buy one of the devs a Steam game or two (obtained with Wallet codes purchased locally).
*sigh* I really need to find a way to get paypal.
Our debit cards don’t work like that. You need a credit card here because the debit cards require a PIN code and thus won’t even allow Paypal’s verification charge. And I don’t need a credit card and the charges that go along with a better account.
I am currently shutting down my VPS and boarding the donation ship.
As a request: donators should know if the service is in danger. I didn’t check what runs this site, but if it’s not a big hassle people should at least be notified if the goals are met or not which could be even edited manually or something like that. It is nice t osee that you guys let us know about the issues, but it would be great to know that there is something going south in time. Hope my point gets through 🙂
For example put out a “we are fine”, or “get yourselves together people” message below the donation image as a sign 😀
Looks like the post worked. They have almost 3 months fees donated already.
The reason they’re not putting a meter upfront is DMCA issues and other dumb stuff. I guess the only way possible right now is to make posts like this to alert us about the status of the site. Seems to work really well.
exactly, if we can see how much is the current donation and the price needed , it will be more comfortable to us to donate. Besides ,i think with the time you can get more money from ads, but till now the Hi10 isnt enough popular and it has a low rank , weird.
(sry bad English)
Excuse my ignorance, but wouldn’t it be better to collab or join/merge or form a team together with a existing group of encoders with same aim ? I don’t know why so many encoder groups and sites exist and then close after a year or so (animechiby, animeken, minitheater and cyber12 kinda desert). The only group I regularly use now are AnimeOut and hi10 (for blurays). I really wish you guys wouldn’t stop encoding and rather why cant animeout and hi10 just group up ?
animeout guys themselves have been encoding and alive since 5 years now and I am a regular donator there because I get DDL access to 800 encodes titles and 20k episodes, and to be fair, I think they have better servers and techy guys.
i tried watching other than hi10anime. Theyre fine for speed releases but honestly try not to since they favor HS and watermarks on the video are annoying so no id rather not. hi10anime is still the best.
isn’t it because of their way of doing things different? anyway collaboration without a good management is doomed to be failed, if you read oregairu vol 9 you’ll find a very good example of ‘why’
A merger is usually a bad decision for such communities. Besides, we are up for more than 4 years as well.
It’s funny that you mentioned the gigantic 20k (20 thousand) episode hallmark and it made me think what do we have? Can you guess? Well, let me walk you through. We’ve got 7TB space and last I heard we had ~2 TB free space. Meaning we have 5TB of anime / stuff. Considering that we have a lot of BD 1080p, let’s say our average filesize is 190MB (which is a lot more than reality, i think).
Anyway, it will get to something like ~28k episodes, not to mention a shitload of them are BD 1080p and BD 720p. And all of it is on our dedicated servers.
Then there’s the quality. I guess I don’t even need to explain this bit, do I?

My point is: Just because you think something is better doesn’t actually make it better. Don’t say it like we’re barely managing in this cruel world. I don’t wanna brag, but we are proud to have maintained this site for so long and will try our best to do it in future.
erm… my point was not comparison but instead survival/continuing to encode, since it was quite clearly written in post about the donation status of site and that it could lead to “SHUT DOWN THE SITE”
I want to donate through PayPal, but every time I click on the link to email you, my computer asks me to set up Outlook and I don’t want to do that. Can you give me the email address and instructions? Thanks.
Right click on the email address > Copy email address.
The link is opening Outlook as that’s your Systems default email program. When a link contains “mailto:”, it will instruct the browser to open the email in your default email program (some browsers can override this behaviour).
So now..how many do you guys(hi10) get now?
because im was thinking ..if now the donation that they give is enough..so..we could just donate it for next month or save it..
Anyway besides the point. Could you guys do a email subscription? so if the site is in danger of low funds a mass email could go out to the people who subscribes to the email, this way I(everyone) who do want to keep this site up and running will get an email that says your in danger and need our help.
I could always increase my donation for that month(well next month for me) to help you guys.

Thanks for all the work, I want to donate. But I have small question. It seems like my IP is banned from downloading anything from hi10.
I get (111) connection refused error from website
http://i.imgur.com/kWyAAhO.png
and my existing torrent gets banned as soon as I run the utorrent.

Will the donator status unban my ip?
That looks like an ISP issue. It looks like your ISP is running a caching service (nsip.biz) which doesn’t play well with Hi10,
Have you tried downloading via a proxy or VPN?
Thanks a lot! Works fine today, didn’t change a thing…
Juuhi-chan is back! My wallet is ready.
Same problem here you use Airtel Broadband?
can i donate wit steam wallet code? .__. dun have paypal etc :<
I think you guys need some sort of meter on the left like reddit has showing the amount donated per month. That would put things in perspective and maybe prompt people to donate…
I second this. Please create some type of meter, so that I can check-in and help when necessary.
too too risky becuz dmca agent will target us , like 1 or 2 year ago , that why we remove them
can’t it be made visible only to accounts with donator status?
maybe syn can make a private page for donator
what about a excel page (external link) with this?
I second the private page
I think it’s on the right
i like to donate but i dont have paypal, and “bitcoinbymobile.com” not support at my country. any other option to donate except western union and paypal? thanks before
I just donated! DON’T SHUT DOWN THE SITE!! \\(^-^)//
omg youre so cute . i hope youre a girl :3
Would there be a list that shows who donated to the site?
In the past there was, but we had to remove it because it was too risky (DMCA and stuff), however, you can check how many donations we have overall in a month here:

get a debit card -> get paypal.
You can do that all online now as long as you have a bank account…if you didn’t…where have you been living??
Our debit cards don’t work like that. You need a credit card here because the debit cards require a PIN code and thus won’t even allow Paypal’s verification charge. And I don’t need a credit card and the charges that go along with a better account.

So it’s wordpress, my suggestion might work pretty easily then. (Sorry for the years old bla-bla name :D)
Question / Suggestion: Where can we see how much as been donated in the current month?
It might sound strange but I’d much rather be willing to help seeing how much you still need and filling in the rest.
http://hi10anime.com/site-news/website-news-4/

Perhaps a monthly forum thread about the issue instead of a counter?
I don’t think anybody who visits the site ever goes to the forums for anything other than requests. It wouldn’t get seen at all.
In the Website news.Here

Yeah I get that but merging is not a good option. You know, fighting for the throne. Never a good thing XD
Hi admins. I want to donate via Western Union. When I become a donator, how long will it last?
How much do you have to donate so i can have direct downloads without the adds, and how much bandwidth a month can you download.
Thanks for awesome sight i rejioned from many moons ago!!!
http://hi10anime.com/donate/
here… too lazy to explain ( ̄▽ ̄)
Thanks do not know why i missed it last time 🙂

I Hope you guys don’t shutdown but if you do it’s understandable wishes can’t make stuff true.
I’m a regular donor myself every month and I hope those people whom download from here be good enough to at least donate a little each time.
If you can afford a internet connection I’m pretty sure you can afford a few bucks.
Where’s the edit button on this thing….
Anyway besides the point. Could you guys do a email subscription? so if the site is in danger of low funds a mass email could go out to the people who subscribes to the email, this way I(everyone) who do want to keep this site up and running will get an email that says your in danger and need our help.
I could always increase my donation for that month(well next month for me) to help you guys.
btw, I can’t seem to find the link on the overhead dashboard of the site donate progress.
Here.
