Run first, pet later, that is the sad rule of survival when a strange virus has turned simple cat cuddles into the trigger for a global “nyandemic,” where anyone who touches a cat becomes one. Humanity has mostly fallen, cities have gone quiet, and the streets now belong to roaming herds of irresistibly cute felines, while the last human survivors hide in shadows and barricaded corners trying not to give in to their urge to scoop them up. At the center of the chaos is Kunagi, a young man with no memory of his past but an almost uncanny knowledge of cat behavior, which lets him read tiny tail flicks and ear twitches that can mean the difference between escape and getting transformed. He drifts through this cat ruled landscape with other stragglers, dodging fluffy “ambushes,” exploring abandoned shelters and city blocks, and trying to protect both his humanity and the animals he still loves. The show leans into comedy and parody, treating the setup like a send up of zombie apocalypse stories where the moaning hordes are replaced by meowing ones, yet it keeps a real sense of danger in every soft paw step and purr. Adapted from Hawkman and Mecha Roots’ manga, it mixes post apocalyptic dread with the simple daily problems of not having snacks, not having safe beds, and not being allowed to touch the one comforting creature always stretching a paw toward you. Each episode plays with the same question in different ways, from cramped hideouts to open streets packed with cats, always asking how long people can resist when survival means saying no to everything they want to say “here kitty” to. Unfortunately, Mugen decides to pick a fight with the unwilling ronin Jin, who wields a more precise and traditional style of swordfighting, and the latter proves to be a formidable opponent. The only problem is, they end up destroying the entire shop as well as accidentally killing the local magistrate's son.

The Strongest Sage with the Weakest Crest

At birth, mages randomly acquire one of the four "crests" that represents the extent of their magical capability. Equipped with a crest specializing in creation, a man named Gaius reached the ceiling of his potential, becoming known as the world's strongest sage. Despite his overwhelming power, he is unsatisfied with his abilities and desires to possess the mark suitable for close combat. Knowing that a person's crest is unchangeable, Gaius decides to reincarnate far into the future, hoping to alter his fate.

Thousands of years later, Gaius is reborn as Mathias Hildesheimer, successfully obtaining his long-coveted crest. However, he is surprised to learn that in these times, magic has vastly waned, and the techniques that were once widely used are now nothing more than just a speck of legend. Moreover, the crest that he painstakingly strived to attain is now considered the weakest—merely dubbed the "Crest of Failure."

Nevertheless, Mathias naturally exceeds all expectations. He enrolls into the royal capital's Second Academy, acing every trial that comes his way.
