| Freezing rain of a desolate junkyard soaks through a thin jacket worn by an impoverished street fortune teller desperately clinging to a meager existence. Keika You lives a completely pathetic life as a disgraced heir of a formerly prestigious exorcist family, scrounging for spare change just to buy basic meals. His miserable reality violently shatters when he inadvertently witnesses a lethal spiritual battle in a scrap yard and is subsequently killed by a rogue truck. Instead of finding peace in the afterlife, a bewildered young man awakens as a wandering spirit completely unbound from his physical body. He is immediately confronted by Ki Tanmoku, a stoic and immensely powerful exorcist who leads an influential spiritual clan in a mortal realm. Recognizing raw latent potential within a deceased heir, an elite mage offers a terrified ghost a binding contract known as a Spiritpact to protect him from decaying into a mindless demon. Keika reluctantly accepts a supernatural bargain, becoming an official spirit shadow for an arrogant exorcist and tying their souls together across boundaries of life and death. Their chaotic partnership forces an inexperienced ghost to rapidly master his dormant magical abilities to defend his new master from relentless assassination attempts orchestrated by rival families and malevolent underworld entities. Ultimately, his fatal accident transforms into a high-stakes supernatural crusade to preserve a fragile spiritual balance while navigating a deeply intimate partnership that defies standard laws of mortality.
