Shikkakumon no Saikyou Kenja [AV1, BD 1080P]

The Strongest Sage with the Weakest Crest

At birth, mages randomly acquire one of the four "crests" that represents the extent of their magical capability. Equipped with a crest specializing in creation, a man named Gaius reached the ceiling of his potential, becoming known as the world's strongest sage. Despite his overwhelming power, he is unsatisfied with his abilities and desires to possess the mark suitable for close combat. Knowing that a person's crest is unchangeable, Gaius decides to reincarnate far into the future, hoping to alter his fate.

Thousands of years later, Gaius is reborn as Mathias Hildesheimer, successfully obtaining his long-coveted crest. However, he is surprised to learn that in these times, magic has vastly waned, and the techniques that were once widely used are now nothing more than just a speck of legend. Moreover, the crest that he painstakingly strived to attain is now considered the weakest—merely dubbed the "Crest of Failure."

Nevertheless, Mathias naturally exceeds all expectations. He enrolls into the royal capital's Second Academy, acing every trial that comes his way. But soon after, Mathias discovers the dark truth behind humanity's downfall into magical mediocrity—demons—and endeavors to remedy the consequence of his millennia-long absence once and for all.

  1. Wow, this actually got an anime lol. I read the manga and it’s actually descent-ish.
the only problem is the pacing, other than that, it’s really a descent-ish.

  2. FYI: The pacing on the anime is MUCH FASTER. it completely removes certain minor/backstory events. (The manga alone has a fast facing in terms of on going event but the anime took it to the next level. LOL)

  3. Faster than the manga? Wow…take notes derivative shows that waste episodes on cookie cutter crap like the protagonist having to do odd-jobs to get money or the onsen episode and all the other crap 13 ep shows stuff around with instead of doing story.

That said…I think that may be a little toooo fast…

    1. my comment is a mistype. it’s decent-ish not deScent lmao my bad. But if you really wanna pick it up, might try the manga? other than that, this is one of the animes that you can drop and repick anytime to continue where you left off as it does give an impression but not as big as some other anime. (Its more like a full season filler anime compared to the others)

It has about 40+ chapters as I remember on the manga. Only thing to note is that the pacing feels like an unstoppable train. (Theres always a medium to big event happening (like demon battle, battle, battle, demon battle again, battle) that feels like there’s no breathing time (There actually is but compared to any other anime, it’s really fast on this.))

Seems like they’re trying to fit as many event chapters as they can to the anime.
All in all, decent-ish. Something anyone can pickup, if you get bored, drop it as fast then repickup again on a later date if you ever feel like it.

  4. only sound and no video on the ones I downloaded (both batch and individual link)..
did I do something wrong when I downloaded thru the links? =)
    thanks for the upload..

    1. What player are u using to play the videos? We strongly recommend using MPV or MPC-HC to ensure our encodes work properly.

Other players like VLC are prone to issues and isn’t recommended across encoding/subbing groups for that very reason.

Links to the latest versions of our recommended players can be found here: playback guide

Or u can select k-lite codecs from ninite in the media section: ninite

        1. Did u try any of the other players I recommended? Please provide any screenshots showing the issue along with the version of the player. MPC-HC will playback the files without any issues as that’s what I daily drive myself.

I would uninstall your current version of MPC-HC and replace it with the latest version (k-lite codec) via the ninite link I provided.

If that still doesn’t work (it should), try MPV here: MPV

        2. MPC-HC (CCCP Build, 64-bit)

        3. It’s no wonder the files aren’t being played correctly. You’re using a 10 year old version of MPC-HC. This series was encoded with AV1 which has only been in development for a few years, so the ancient version of MPC-HC you’re using doesn’t know how to decode the video. Download the latest version of MPC-HC via the ninite link or switch to MPV which are actively maintained players and will play the files back with no issues.

A different team took over MPC-HC after the main team discontinued dev work and the last update for MPC-HC on the new team was the end of September this year.
