Loosely based on the novel "Romance of the Three Kingdoms", modern day Japan sees a similar struggle for power between different rival schools with the three strongest being: Kyosho Academy led by Sousou Moutoku, Nanyo Academy by Sonsaku Hakufu, and Ryuubi Gentoku from Seito High School. Shu is a typical Japanese boy, but has an unbeatable, optimistic and determined attitude. However, when he sees a mysterious girl with strange eyes named Lala-Ru up on a smokestack, he is soon pulled into a strange desert world. Shu soon discovers the true terrors of war, which includes genocide, brutal torture, hunger, thirst, and child explotation. Now Shu is trying to save Lala-Ru, as well as his hard earned, and often relunctant, new friends from the insane dictator, Hamdo. Whether Shu can possibly accomplish saving those he cares about while still holding up to his values remains to be seen. Synopsis for: Tsumiki no Ie | La Maison en Petits Cubes (Spring 2008)
An old man lives in a town that has become submerged in water. As the water level rises, he's forced to build additional levels onto his home with bricks (cubes) in order to stay above water. One day he accidentally drops his favorite pipe into the lower levels of his home, and decides to rent scuba diving equipment in order to go searching for it.
