    1. Only the OVA was released in 2013, the first season aired from Oct 4, 2012 to Dec 20, 2012, you can see on MAL, but yes probably I should have added it, thanks for noticing it anyway, I’ll add it now.

  9. Log Horizon got some originalities in it.However, the animation and supporting characters are a bounch of cliches and turned me down. I like SNK and Maou sama a lot though.

      1. oops will fix it asap, even though Gintama and Fairy Tail finished airing in march, so most of their episodes aired in 2012, I’m not sure if it’s fair to include them here, let’s see.

  13. The first two-thirds of Toaru Kagaku no Railgun S might have been the best anime I’ve seen in a while. It was almost a shame, however, that it reached its climax not exactly towards the end of its season. Nevertheless, it was satisfying to see Misaka’s journey.

    monogatari is still the best for this year for me!!

    a little bit surprised to see log horizon got that many votes and beat monogatari.. I mean it’s good but it’s not that good.. at least for me 😛

    probably because I was expecting a “pseudo-vrmmorpg” feel but got a “fantasy setting” feel instead.. it just me though so don’t mind, don’t mind ^^

    Monogatari and Log horison are overrated. I didn’t watch Monogatari to be honest, but I watched bakemonogatari (1st season) and I have no idea what people like about it. It just a boring dialog heavy anime.

    1. True dat. Monogatari is a heavily dialog anime. Not sure why I give a high point first time I watch it. Then again, when I review for the second time, I give it a thought that this anime should not be that good.

      Anyway, Shingeki no Kyojin and Oregairu is my favorite.

      1. Trust me, if you liked OreGairu, you should watch White Album 2. It is much better imo. Of course I liked OreGairu too but after watching WA2 I can’t accept that OreGairu is having more votes than WA2! Most people tend to drop WA2 because they thought it is a sequel of White Album, but it isn’t. You should give WA2 a shot, and I can assure that you will not regret. So far I’m watching episode 12 and currently this is my favourite romance series of the year.

        1. I watch WA2, I know it’s not sequel of WA (I don’t even watch WA). As far as I’m watching, I know the story direction, it’s kind of easy to guess (at least for me). Well, EP13 is not out yet so whatever it is, I’m sure it will be to my favor.

    1. thinking about it, I’ve added fairy tail which ended just 4 days later than sakurasou, probably I should have excluded fairy tail too, even though it’s ranked very low here.

  22. I’m kinda missing Psycho-pass and Shin-sekai Yori on this list. Both of those started in 2012 in the winter cours, but showed their true colors in 2013, as well as (barely but still) more than half of both series being aired in 2013.

    After SnK I would say those two are my number 2 and 3 for the year. As for number 4… erm, maybe Maoyuu?

  23. What’s with the “SnK overrated” thing?? People automatically starts hating this anime because all they hear is “Overrated” and “Super Overrated”
    SnK is the best anime bcuz, let’s be honest…..IT IS.
    The animation is superb, the art style is awesome, the soundtrack is super, the story is well written, and it’s a 24 episodes a season. What else do you want more ? :s
    I have watched it 3 times, not once, but three! Bcuz I wanted to know if it’s worth all the hype, and damn, It really is worth the time I spent watching it!
    Don’t judge the whole anime by watching the 1st couple of episodes, but watch the whole thing, then criticize all you want.

  24. I see that Snk is on top…I love the anime but I’ll admit that I do feel that it is a little overrated but the fact that Log Horizon was rated 2nd made me very happy.
